    When I first fought this boss (in this remake, not the original) I got the first strike too. Do you think they slightly lowered her speed this time?

    Yeah, her speed is like, 121, or something like that, I think. People commented her speed was, like 170 on the original. 121 base speed makes the final boss much more enjoyable, since with some roulette/coffee up-grades you can get Mario to be faster than any enemy on the game (and not get an instant game over on the final boss). PS: I didn't play the original, just saying.
