Top 5 WANTED Newcomers

This is the second of a 3 Part list for the next Smash Bros. This time, I'm going to focus on characters that I want for the next Smash. As it's a personal wish list, there's going to be a bit of bias here. Go Figure. Well, let's get started.

  • 5. Zoroark - Pokémon Gen V, like Gen III, was criminally left out of a playable Pokémon for the Generation. While you could make the argument that there weren't any Gen III Pokémon with a potentially interesting moveset, which I call bull on, Gen V had Zoroark, which was one of the first Gen V Pokémon revealed and potentially one of it's most interesting.

  • And it's all because of it's Illusion Ability. Imagine if Zoroark had the ability to temporarily disguise itself as one of the other characters currently on the field. Something like that would be awesome for 8 Player matches. I'm stumped on how it could work in Smash, but seeing it in action would be incredible. Zoroark is well past it's time to be playable, but I'd love it's inclusion.

  • 4. Ghirahim - The Legend of Zelda There isn't a Zelda villain quite like Lord Ghirahim. With Impa being the only major recurring character still missing from Smash, future Zelda characters will likely be game-specific. Before anyone says it won't happen, Shiek has yet to appear outside of Ocarina of Time. I know she was originally part of Zelda's moveset, but it's still point.

  • When it comes to Ghirahim, he has plenty to work with. Imagine if he has a defensive move that allowed him to disarm and equip an opponents equipped weapon. He has teleports, can create a barrier composed of daggers, various sword strikes, he definitely could be an interesting addition. He's also likely the only character on this list that's on other players' lists.

  • 3. Hector - Fire Emblem Of all the characters on this list, Hector has the weakest chances of getting in. His game has come and gone and it's unlikely the chance of him being added will ever come up again. That said, his inclusion would bring some possibilities. Primarily speaking, Hector is a big and heavy character, one that the list of Smash 4 newcomers lacked.

  • Similar to Alm on the previous list, Hector could bring a much needed heavyweight. However, unlike other Fire Emblem characters, he is not armed with a sword. Instead, he has an axe, and if he were to get in he'd come wielding Armads, the Thunder Axe. An axe, access to lightning, and a heavily armored status, Hector would definitely stand out from other Fire Emblem characters.

  • 2. Goku - Yuyuki Not Dragon Ball Goku. This Goku was created by Nintendo for a text adventure title called Yuyuki. Incidentally, Yuyuki is based off of the Chinese story Journey West...which is also the same story that Dragon Ball is loosely based off of. We have two different series based on the same thing with the main protagonist is based on the same character with both named Goku.

  • Yuyuki is truer to the source material, however, and that's where Goku's moveset could come from: the character he's based on, Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. Look up a list of thing Sun Wukong does in the story and tell me that wouldn't make a cool moveset. Admittedly, though, the main reason I want Yuyuki's Goku is due to the number of people who wanted Dragon Ball Goku. Imagine their reaction.

  • 1. Ray - Custom Robo Anyone who's followed me on Miiverse probably saw this coming. After all, I've been wanting the Ray 01 from the Gamecube Custom Robo since long before Smash 4 was announced. And it's still one of my most requested characters, although I'd be fine with any model of the series' most recognized Robo Model. 01, MK II, MK III, Warrior, Legends, at this point any are fine.

  • it is going to be a while and it will most likely be a port.

  • Moveset-wise, Ray isn't lacking either. There were 50 different Guns in the Gamecube Custom Robo, and that's not counting Bombs and Pods. It could use the Robo Cannon for recovery. I made a moveset for the 01 model years ago on Miiverse so if you can find it give it a read. Regardless of such, I still want Ray in Smash.

  • And that's it for this list. Tomorrow, I'll make a list of the Top 5 most DESERVING Newcomers, characters that should be playable whether they're likely or not.

  • i've custom robo to the near end and the only good move is the tribolt, which only works in a 3d plane.

  • I think Goku from Yuyuki would more likely to end up as an Assist Trophy.

  • I found a lot of weapons in Custom Robo useful. Sword Storm, 3-Way, Gatling, and Magnum come to mind with the right setup. The Magnum works really well with Strike Vanisher models such as Javelin. It also works with Little Raider models if you stay on the move.

  • Hector would be awesome! As much as I like swords, axes are about on the same level, for me.
