    I posted about that puzzle a couple days ago. It didn't make sense to me, so I looked at some discussion boards, and everybody is saying it's a mistake. I thought maybe they mistranslated it, and got "left" and "right" mixed up. But either way, the 2nd hint contradicts itself.

    Wow, I was sure I was misunderstanding something. This never happened in any other Layton games. I'm very surprised to see that. Maybe it has something to do with something different on the phone version. I hope it's the only one. They could probably fix it with an update.

    Not sure where I saw this, but I read that it was localized by a different team than usual. If true, it might be due to being on mobile.
