    Wouldn't surprise me since the most recent Animal Crossing was Amiibo Festival - a new direction that they tried which was a huge flop and also mostly just a ploy to sell Animal Crossing Amiibos. The irony is that I didn't buy the amiibos for the game, I bought the game for the amiibos. You really have to want the figures already to merit getting them.

    Oh yeah, I mean that's the latest unless you count the "Welcome amiibo" update for ACNL. Which it is debatable whether they are just trying to sell amiibos with that or whether it is just one aspect of the update. Still essentially the same boat. The upsell of Animal Crossing content just hasn't deviated from physical cards and figures yet but I suppose that's the logical next step, huh? Hope not.
