Hey guys, I want to ask a serious question. is Hyrule Encyclopedia canon? As far as I know its status is as not canon for the fact that it was wrote by people of the Nintendo Dream magazine (who took liberties for it) and it wasn't supervised by Eiji Aonuma. I know that Hyrule Historia is canon because it has the difference that it was heavily supervised by Aonuma himself (even if it contradicts-

  • itself, is canon at the end of the day). But I have read that some said that Ainuma stated that Hyrule Encyclopedia fixes a lot of errors in the timeline stated by Hyrule Historia, the thing is, that I haven't found anything about this quote and I only see super pointless discussions that doesn't even answer this. So there it is, I hope you can help me with this.

Well.. if Nintendo didn't have a hand in making it, then it's not canon.

It's not canon unless they officially say so. I'm sure some new information is correct, but it dhould not be treated as facts in any way. It would still be nice to buy though as a collector item though.

  • As a big time Star Wars fan for 20 years, take it from me, official continuity is overrated. Don't worry about it. Some of the best stories existed outside of the canon and Disney is just there making official fan films. It's highly suspect the developers of the Zelda games were thinking of the continuity in any serious way when they were making these games 30 years ago.
