I've always thought a game where you travelled between the three timelines to unify them could be cool (Hey, reunification theorists!). You get three different worlds to traverse, basically. One would be an ocean you sail on, and you get normal Hyrule in the child timeline, and maybe the Downfall Timeline is a wasteland or something... And Link is on a mission to unite the three timelines.

  • Unsink Flooded Hyrule (with help from the Koroks, obviously), help rebuild Downfallen Hyrule... Maybe this Link even jumps back in time as far back as Skyward Sword to fix time (note that I didn't originally envision actual time travel, more just moving between the timelines).

  • Link is probably from the Child Timeline, since it's the most prosperous for Hyrule. That makes it the hub world. This would probably be difficult to make into a good game, actually, but it still sounds cool to me. Plus, all us theorists would be able to stop fighting over BotW and say "We were all right!" Except those vehemently opposed to the Reunification Theory... I'm a Downfall supporter, myse

  • Oh, and I guess this would be a quest given to Link either by Zelda, the Sheikah, Hylia, the three goddesses, or the Triforce. Anyone else got ideas for this game? I'd love to hear them!

  • Unified Timeline Theory makes my head hurt. That would mean that the history of all three timelines happened at once. Or would different people remember different histories?

  • Person A- "Remember when Hyrule was flooded?" Person B- "No, Ganon destroy everything during the Imprisoning War" Person C- "What are you talking about? We had a small invasion from the Twilight, but no war, and definitely no flooding. Also, what what the heck is a Rito?!"

  • @Knight I'm with you. I'm not going to agree with the Unified Theory unless it's established as canon in a game. But the time loop in Skyward Sword(where you kill Demise in the present, but then he revives in the past and you defeat him but his hatred still exists. Plus the thing where Zelda goes back to strengthen the seal) makes me think its possible with enough work.

  • As for how it would work... it would probably erase a lot of the games, but they would live on as legends... Or via Tales of Symphonia, the timelines are different worlds that become reunited. You get people from each world all together in the reunified Hyrule. They all have their different histories, but now they have to live in the same Hyrule together.

  • Sounds like DC Crisis on Infinite Earths.
