So, what exactly are the limitations on the triforce? And just what exactly is this ultimate power? What can it do and what can't it do?

  • Despite what happened in A Link Between Worlds, I would guess the triforce can't make copies of itself. It was able to restore Lorule's triforce because it had existed at some point. So, either Lorule's triforce's time was reset to a point before it was destroyed or it wasn't completely destroyed and its fragments were gathered up and glued back together.

  • Perhaps the triforce's power is the same as its creators. The wielder can shape the world and the laws of the world. This would allow one to bend time to bring back the dead and carve out the land into a wasteland covered in darkness. The triforce reacts to what's in a person's heart, so it's probably a difficult power for mortals to control. But of course, we learn that deities can't use.

  • *deities can't use it.

  • The Sacred Realm turning into the Dark World wasn't a wish, that happened as soon as Ganondorf layed hands on the Triforce. Sure, it did split apart, but at that point the Realm reflected Ganondorf's heart- he wanted Hyrule and the Realm been a twisted looking Hyrule

  • That can be undone by a wish as seen in ALttP. I'm wondering of a wish granted by the Triforce can be undone by a nother wish. When Hyrule was flooded, Ganondorf was was going to make a wish that would have undone the will of the Goddesses

  • @Knight Also consider this: Ghirahim undid Link's wish to destroy Demise by going back into the past and resurrecting him there, so there do exist ways to circumvent a wish by the triforce. I suspect another wish would work as well. The party that lost the triforce would no longer have the power to enforce their wish, and the triforce is probably powerful enough to undo anything it can bring about

  • Though that does bring up the question of why Zelda didn't use it to restore Hyrule after Ocarina of Time. Then again, maybe she did. Could be part of the reason she sent Link away. Not much evidence to support that theory. Now, if you're talking about Triforce versus triforce, like if people had the Lorule Triforce and the Hyrule Triforce, then I don't have much of an idea of what would happen.

  • Link's wish in SS was to destroy Demise, and that wish came true. It didn't wipe him out from all existence, just was defeated (in Link's present time) Ghirahim went back into the past where Demise was freshly sealed into the Impressed and resurrected him there.

  • Here's what I think: Link's wish didn't do anything because he ended up defeating Demise in the past after he killed him in the present. On top of that, Demise's hatred ended up surviving into the present and future regardless of Link's wish.
