I've recently got into playing doctor mario and am really enjoying the character(even with his bad recovery).So i ask anyone for tips on how the play Doctor mario.

    can't wait to see how many people say "Pick the regular Mario" but focus on Combos, Back Air spacing, ALWAYS save you double jump, practice Down throw to Fair kill set ups [its very percent & weight / fall speed dependent] & edge guards with down b [it has a lot of knockback]. Also Pill Zoning & using Pills to bait defensive habits such as rolls etc.

    Hes also pretty slow, so use b reverses to mix up your landings. He also has a footstool combo. To my knowledge, it works on lucina, marth, little mac, mewtwo, cloud, roy (our boi), and possibility others. (I think it works on fox and zero suit too.) Mashing Jump makes it easier to pull off.

    Oh yeah, when recovering, you usually want to use down b first as it gives your opponent less time to edgeguard you.

    Down throw, Mash jump to get the footstool, at the peak of the jump, fastfall and nair. (REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO DO A SHORT HOP FOOTSTOOL) Otherwise, it won't work.

    After the lock, you can punish with whatever. The best option is to side tilt twice, regrab, turn around backup and jump following with an immediate reverse up b. (Has to be done quick)

    For marth and lucina, angle your second side tilt lowered otherwise it will miss. And for mewtwo, your first side tilt has to be a pivot. Hope this helped. :-) (It does take some practice, but is worth it for those hard matchups)
