Your favourite band that changed radically?

And how do you feel about their output after the change? I discovered Genesis through their pop output, and honestly, I prefer a little bit over the prog stuff, but it's all good music. I even like bits of Calling All Stations (which was produced without Phil Collins).

  • But I became a Genesis fan after they were popular. I bet I can give a more succinct answer with a new band I'm following. You all remember Down With Webster, right? After their hypeman, DJ, and 2nd frontman left, they rebranded themselves as HONORS and started making spacey electronic music. They were born just yesterday though, so they only have 3 songs at the moment.

  • Cold Play. It went from sad songs to happy and cheery songs. I don't have a problem with that, but since I grew up listening to songs like Yellow, Scientist and Fix You, it's very hard to adapt to Cold Play's new style.

  • I like "Over", still need to listen to "Say Yes" more, and I don't even know the name of their 3rd song. Between DWW and deadmau5, I'm trying hard to become a fan of Canadian electronic music, but the genre hasn't clicked with me yet. I will continue to follow HONORS, though.

  • Theory of a Deadman. They've been a hard rock band that likes to experiment with different genres but their latest album has gone full on pop. Same with Linkin Park's final album(though i do like it)

Bon Jovi. They're completely unrecognizable now. They've gone from classic '80s hair rock to...whatever that country pop-rock garbage is that they're spewing out these days, not to mention Jon Bon Jovi can't sing worth a [censored] anymore. Such a shame. At least we've still got the classics. Their '80s library will never get old, and some of their '90s stuff is good, too.
