I've been do this on the anniversary of his reveal, but with miiverse closing soon, I'll do it now. Just over 3 years ago, this guy was announced for Smash 4. I was so incredibly excited and happy when I saw the reveal trailer despite a leak the day before. Prior to smash 4, no one had even heard of Shulk or Xenoblade Chronicles, so realistically, his chances were pretty slim.

    I wanted him in so badly that I even made up a partial moveset for him. Netural B would have been light heal and his final smash would have been Monado Buster. Suffice to say, Nintendo came up with a much better moveset. So, thank you Nintendo, thank you Mashario Sakarui, for putting the main character from one of my favorite games in smash and introducing him to a wider audience.

    I remember posting before his reveal about wanting Shulk in Smash, and someone legitimately thought I was joking about...a female Hulk. *sigh* I still feel like his inclusion was to garnish interest in the game and series, similar to how Marth and Roy enlightened many gamers about the existence of the Fire Emblem series, ultimately leading to FE7 having a worldwide release.

    I feel that way too: we've gotten a spin-off sequel in xenoblade chronicles X, and now a proper sequel with xenoblade chronicles 2. Not to mention a new 3ds port of the original.

    I remember that day, i'd actually just gotten home from picking Xenoblade up and started playing. After getting lost in Colony 9 and struggling to understand how the game worked, i consulted the internet for help and Shulk's reveal trailer was just there waiting for me. Nice coincidence.

    I remember people saying he wouldn't get in because he was a 3rd-Party character...completely oblivious to the fact that we had three 3rd-Party characters announced at that point and Shulk was a 1st-Party character. Honestly, I was glad to see him too, even if the main reason being I wanted to see some of the game's fantastic music in Smash...even if the one track I wanted never made it in.

    For smash switch, I hope they include more ambient tracks from the game, like Valak mountain and Satoral marsh.

    The title theme. A track that beautiful, regardless of tone, needs to be in Smash. I wonder if anything from X or 2 will be considered for Smash.
