    @ricky - My guess is, that's just for New Donk City. From what I've researched so far, I only heard that New Donk City has some resemblances to the Sonic game. Of course, I myself, am a Sonic fan, and Nintendo making a Sonic reference in a Mario game actually made the game much better. It also made Mario a little more serious looking. I think this will be one of the best Mario games I ever played.

    Seaside Knigdom actually shares a small resemblance to Emerald Coast, to be honest. New Donk City looking like Station Square is probably just a nod to the Sonic franchise, without any rights being infringed.
