I find it difficult navigating the internet, to be completely honest. Despite this, I have a ludicrously expensive gaming computer (which I have not used since early March.)

  • I find the need to adapt to completely new software interfaces a bit more confounding. I don't know if you've heard of a 3D modeling program that you can get under a free student license if you have a college id or recent high school id but take a look at Autodesk Maya ...now take a look at Blender (totally free). Totally different. This is where you go as a student when you can't afford expensive

  • software. And even those are fairly similar. The contrasts get so much larger with other things. You take a look at SmileBASIC, Game Maker, RPG Maker, Unity - none of them have much of anything in common other than their utility. Every time I look at a new software interface, I feel like I've just been flown to an alien world and told to integrate into their society.

  • It's not like I don't know how to do art, draw, design, program, even - to an extent - music but when you put me in front of the software I feel like I've just been severely and harmfully lobotomized. I've gotten better at it over time. I've mostly had to learn how to change my perspective and philosophy about things - but it's still quite confounding.

  • Navigating the web is nothing compared to creating it, either. At least they had the foresight to create 1 language, HTML, for EVERYTHING (well... that's a simplification) but then you have to make pages compatible for 5+ browsers - and you think that's gone once you write programs in a real language but no... you have to rewrite and compile, and test, for 3 versions of 3 different OSes... phew

  • Nevermind.

  • My knowledge on computers, and related subjects snd topics, is extremely limited, Tristen... my apologies if I have wasted your time.

  • Haha! It's fine. You're not expected to know what all of those things are. It takes someone with a special experience to be familiar with all of those. To be honest, I havent even actually used RPG Maker, myself. Personally, I think that most web-sites tend to be fairly "cookie-cutter". That makes them, usually, easier to navigate than different softwares but I do like seeing original web layouts

  • Ultimately, it depends on its purpose but I do prefer web-pages to be more playful like video games and for software to be more easily understandable / intuitive & easy to use swiftly. I find that quite often, neither is the case.
