    Why would Ridley go from a boss in Smash to playable in Smash? We might as well request Master Hand, Crazy Hand, Yellow Devil, and Metal Face to be playable. In my opinion, Smash isn't as much fun without bosses.

    @alex, it makes more sense to promote assist trophy characters to playable in my honest opinion, since it feels less awkward. Plus, I'm pretty sure the number of AT's outnumber bosses.

    @Kris Ridley is the only other iconic character in Metroid. That's more than enough reason to put in the effort to make him playable. @Ian Sakurai also said that Villager won't be playable.

    Kris, metroid is one of those series that isn't lacking bosses to replace ridley. there are like hundreds of them throughout the series, if smash is lacking bosses over assist as you think it is, switch out ridley for one of the many from metroid. and honestly, does anyone exen care when ridley, yellow devel, or metal face come on screen. there just annoying and people just pick the omega stage.

    im saying thats a terrible reason a character cant be in. im sure ROB was a long lost forgotten relic only a select few knew about. ridley surly is known by more than characters like greninja or shulk.
