  I still remember playing the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess like it was yesterday. I had already graduated from high school and my older brother had given me the game during his vacation time from being in the military. Wrapping myself up in this new installment of the series had almost made me forget about its previous Hyrule setting, in Ocarina of Time.

  Though it is a great romp, being forced to play as Wolf Link through at least half of the game brought the presentation to a crawl for me. It IS a neat concept, but I just felt like when I returned to Human Link it was a breath of fresh air. Sidequests came back, and that helped me forget about the Wolf Link sequences so that was a plus. I even brought myself to purchase the Rupee armor.

  Revisiting Hyrule on the WiiU hit almost as much nostalgia as the 3DS Zelda remakes, and it was nice to see improved lighting in the Twilight realm. One minor annoyance that seemed to go unpatched in this HD port was freezing. During my first playthrough I went through the Goron Mines and the game froze after I went through about 75% of the area and falling in a lava pit.

  I never thought that playing a Zelda port would require me to save the game tediously just to be cautious about another game freeze, but it does hurt the experience a little when playing through it again and again. It didn't bring me to sell the game though, and I did still have a great time playing through it after playing its original release years ago.
