Zelda Poem: I hath lived far too long. When my people died, I remained a memory of a time forgotten. I am a cowered; Old and time-past. I should have fallen with my people, I should have fallen with my daughter. From a kingdom wrecked by civil war, I mended the fragments as best I could. I offered bliss to my people, and I made anew a kingdom eternal for all time. But though I tried, I failed.

  • For even I could not soften all the hate and resentment left by the war. I see it now that we shouldn't have been as cruel, as harsh, with our own kin as we were when the Great Hyrule Flag won victory over a field of blood. Though I tried for peace, memory never stays on the battlefield. Like a virus, it follows the soldiers home and plagues the forget of moving on.

  • I should hath seen when a Great Unifier rose to do what I couldn't. The war never ended, the nation grew too powerful too fast, and it took me far too long to act. So it was I who doomed my kingdom and all it stood for. My daughter was but a child, and I wanted her to live a happy and free life. But my wishes were not granted.

  • After my kingdom fell, she was forced into a life of hiding. Her childhood was gone. Her father no where to protect his daughter. She grew up fast, not as a joyful, hopeful child as I wanted, but hard, fearful, and strong. It was not the life I wished to give her. It was not the life of peace.

  • As time past, the Great Unifier, the Invader, the Dictator, call him as you may, was slain by hands stronger than mine. I rebuilt my kingdom. I brought peace back to the lands. But nothing could mend the damage which will forever haunt us. Nothing could bring back the past which was yet innocent. No, not in my grown daughter nor my people. The scars were implanted, and they would not be forgotten.

  • What a foolish king I was! For when the Great Dictator rose again from the blood he was slain, I remained powerless to protect my people. Endless war. Endless bloodshed. Endless death. Hyrule was in ruin. My people killed or deserted. And my daughter, innocents lost, forced into a life of a warrior, died a warrior's death. I was but a weak old man with dreams too large for his strength.

  • I thought I could mend Hyrule and bring everlasting peace. But nay, I lived whilst my people were slain. I retreated in my castle, alone, a hallow king. It was then that even the Gods pitied my judgment. They cried, and with their tears, all hope of mending the shattered was lost for all eternity. And I witnessed it all! And I lived it all.

    Yeahs0
  • I lived through my kingdom's ruin. I lived through my daughter's death. And I keep living, even when I ache for the ignorance of death. A new people arise where I have failed. A new Zelda is born, fatherless as was my daughter. And a third evil, the last of my eyes, tries to tear the world I am not part of anymore.

    Yeahs0
  • Never before have the Gods granted my wish. Never before have they given me what I asked. But now!, as the Golden Pyramids lay before my hands, the Gods will finally hear my desire. Please, mend not what I have failed to protect. Rise not what I have sunk. But make anew. A new kingdom. A world without evil. A world without me. Let me die hear, with the man I failed to stop.

    Yeahs0
  • This is what I ask! Make a new kingdom! A new place where the children can live in peace. My kingdom is gone, but a new Hyrule may yet be created. Do not rewind time. Live forward, and make the future what the past could never have been. Let people live in harmony, a harmony I could not have provided. Let them be happy.

    Yeahs0
  • This is what I wish; This is what I desire. Oh Gods, grant me this. Let this old man finally rest. Let the memory die so new one may be reborn. Let me die. And let a new Hyulre live.

    Yeahs0
  • And so Miiverse shall end, yet we do not need to rewind what has passed. The people live on, and a new kingdom can be reborn. Let us not mourn our defeat, but look into the future with bright and shiny eyes. A new Hyrule will be created; A new Miiverse will exist.

    Yeahs1
  • Let us not wish for the mending of the old, but the rebirth of the new. Hyrule will live on in our hearts, and our hearts will forever stay together. Wherever we may end up, a new kingdom will be built. Wherever our paths lead, it will lead us together. No matter the journey, no matter the costs, as long as we have each other, Miiverse will never truly be dead.

  • Bene dicis. Han Iston.
