(Thoughts/Discussion): As Miiverse is soon ending, I wanted to ask, what do you all want to see from Nintendo in the future? :-). Thought it would be fitting to do this right now and I hope everyone has had a good time on Miiverse.

  • Matthew@ No worries, the type you don't need to be sad about :-). No ;^^, I want a story/serious focused Splatoon series, one that can wow me and make me care and be excited :-). I actually haven't really watched the old Zelda or Mario cartoons, so can't comment that much on them other that I am not interested.

    Yeahs1
  • I'd like to see a messaging function between friends for Switch, VC to finally appear, and a New Animal Crossing for starters

    Yeahs1
  • Sean@ Yup, at least something basic like SMS/1-1 text chat would be good. We have been told that we will get to know more about VC and such next year, so we just have to wait and see, but there are at least Neo Geo games coming out pretty regularly. We will likely get a new Animal Crossing game for the Switch, and we are getting the mobile game later this month luckily :-).

    Yeahs1
  • They (Nint.) have shut down every form of Wii U communication, including Wii U CHAT that actually worked out, but it was a bit cheesy. I do not think that Nintendo would include any social service on the Switch/N3DS. However, I'd not be suprise if in game posts and possible voice chat with friends, like call of duty (Which I do not play), would be in the future. But, the Wii U? No. I think that

    Yeahs1
  • Nint. is killing Wii U WAY TOO FAST.

    Yeahs2
  • Also, region lock, anyone? It is good that Nintendo ''unlocked'' it for the Switch, and if VC comes, Mother 3 and the old Fire Emblen fans could play these games! In japanese, though....

    Yeahs1
  • I cant wait for Pocket Camp, its the first time I'm actually hyped for a mobile app!

    Yeahs1
  • Joe S.@ Yeah, I do agree that Nintendo are a little fast, or at least they don't provide us what kind of online features/platform we will have in the future on the Switch. Nintendo will likely add 1-1 text chat between friends sort of like you said, but beside that we will see. They already have voice chat with the app, so probably going to give us more social features.

    Yeahs2
  • I want Nintendo to have a look at what other platforms like Xbox Live, PSN and Steam have done and do something similar to that. Give us a good messaging system, voice chat, party lobbies etc. Nintendo definitely has some catching up to do when it comes to their online service.

    Yeahs1
  • Joe S.@ Yeah, as the store is region free now we can buy games from Japan, but from what I understand you need Japanese money or Japanese eShop card (codes) to buy something online which make it a little harder. Buying/get physical or demos wouldn't be a problem in terms of that though :-). Lot of Japanese exclusive VC would probably be cool to have/play ^^.

    Yeahs2
  • Egil@ Yup, but I do think having the extra playfulness Nintendo has wouldn't be bad, the difference if it is the options are modern enough or not. I think Nintendo want to have good options, but we will see how it goes. The Switch barely has any services and the only video service they have right now is NicoNico I think More will likely come next yet, but I am surprised that it has taken so long

    Yeahs1
  • They have NicoNico but not Youtube? That's actually pretty interesting though it will likely change soon. I wouldn't mind a cuter approach to the UI or whatever, but they've gotta take it seriously and not exclude any important features because of it. At the very least they should be able to match the PS3 and Xbox 360. We'll see what happens.

    Yeahs1
  • Egil@ NicoNico is technically Japan only, but you can download it if you have a Japanese account on the Switch :-). The UI and everything is in Japanese though. We will at least get YouTube through a browser version sooner or later most likely. I think the UI the Switch has now when you start it up are a bit too simple and a bit too app product like, but will likely add more features later.

    Yeahs1
  • Egil@ I am not sure if Nintendo will quite catch up to the others, but hopefully they at least enough so that we are pleased :-). Wouldn't mind if they added something new and interesting as well that the others haven't done and the new thing being good ^^. Not sure what it would be, but something.

    Yeahs1
  • My hopes: SMASH on switch, amiibo of the cappy transformations and a switch price drop!

    Yeahs1
  • PokeDan@ Sorry, went to bed in case you wondered ;^^. (European here). But yeah, I think Smash are likely to come to the Switch sooner or later, so hopefully we hear something next year if not this year :-). I am not sure about Amiibos of Cappy transformations as there are already so many Amiibos out there and I am not into Amiibo, but we will see and maybe we/you get something ;-).

    Yeahs2
  • PokeDan@ The Switch will likely get a price drop around Black Friday and Christmas :-), but as far as a permanent price drop after Chrismas I am not sure will happen or not. Maybe for some Switch related things, but not sure if the Switch itself will yet even though there might be cheaper versions coming out. In any case, I am glad the Switch is doing so well and will be fun to see how it goes ^^

I would very much like to have Miiverse or a Miiverse-like service for the Switch; however, I don't see that happening. It's a shame really, the time I've spent on Miiverse was an experience I thought I'd never feel. I finally felt welcome into a place where I wasn't ridiculed for being a Nintendo fan. There are many people that I've met that I'd like to be friends with on the Switch, but I...

Matthew@ I agree on that it might not be certain that they make a social platform, but like I said before, I do think we will get more social features in the future than what we have today :-). Yeah, Miiverse is a really welcoming place if you find the right people and usually there are a lot of them ^^. Glad I got all the friends I got here :-).
