We need time machines so we can go back and make sure Activision buys Rare and not Microsoft.

Nintendo didn't want Rare anymore so getting them to keep Rare is not an option but if Activision had Rare, at least we would still have Rare games on Nintendo consoles.

  • Dude, have you SEEN Activision? They'll make Rare games either like Call of Duty, where there are loot boxes and games shoveled out every year with no regards to actual quality, or they'll make them like Skylanders, where they game will cost hundreds of dollars to even get a taste of what's to offer.

  • But wouldn't Rare still develop the games?

  • The magic woukd be gone. Josh, I don't know if you've noticed, but if it wasn't for EA, Activision is the most hated publisher in gaming. The decent games they pull out every once in a while (Deadpool, Prototype, and Tranformers War for/Fall of Cybertron) is outnumbered by games that people hate, not to mention their poor business decisions.

  • But would you rather have low quality Banjo-Kazooie games or no Banjo-Kazooie games at all?

  • Sometimes it's best just to leave your legacy as is. I've accepted that nothing can ever capture Banjo's magic again. It was a once in a lifetime type of game that only comes around rarely (no pun intended). If they did to Banjo what they did to Crash and Spyro, I may have gone more insane than the Joker.

  • I don't think a 3rd party buying another 3rd party is very smart. Activision is a good publisher, but them buying Rare, I can't see sitting well with true Rare fans. Rare would've been better off with Sony.
