I just want to advise people that are "migrating" to other places once Miiverse ends, please remember that these places are not operated by Nintendo or in a lot of cases not even by a business but by a private individual! Make sure you read their privacy/useage policy or know who is running it. As a past system administrator myself, be careful where you give out your personal information to!

Be careful of some of these "pop up" Miiverse "alternatives" & try to find out who is running them and/or if they are serious about running them for any length of time as I am hearing talk of some of them going down already & Miiverse hasn't even ended yet! Some of these private places are just run on someone's home computer & if they don't want to continue running it if activity is slow or...

...it is taking up too much of their internet connection then they will quickly take them down. So be careful giving out your personal information on a system that recently popped up or on a system you don't know who runs it as they might take your information & run. Try to make sure they will be sticking around. Also try to be recommended to a system that has people on it that you already know!

I am not saying all are or would be like this but the possibilty is out there & hearing talk of some of these systems going down already when it's only been 2 months since the Miiverse ending announcement was made & Miiverse hasn't even gone down yet, I question the credibility of some of these Miiverse "alternatives". I just thought I'd voice my opinion about this before Miiverse ends!

Very good points, and I totally agree, something not run by a longstanding company is always worth being cautious about. And they may very well not give months of warning like Nintendo did if they decide to close up, so have multiple links to reach people by in case you suddenly get cut off from one of these services.
