It's a short message written in cipher. I just figured out how to do it, and I thought I'd try it out.

I'm not really sure what type of cipher it is...I learned about it from a book I read. Anyway, if anyone's interested in trying to crack it, you'll probably need the key...and to know that, you'll have to figure out the occupation and name of my son. That's the key that will help you decipher the message.

Not really sure what that is, but from what I've found online...no, I don't think it's a Vigenere.

I believe it's most similar to what's called a keyed Caesar cipher, but it still works a little differently.

How it works is, you write out the key, without including any repeating letters after the first ones. Then when you're done writing that out, just take the last letter in the key and move on to the next letter in the alphabet and keep going from there, skipping over any letters that are already part of the key...if that makes sense.

So if the key were, say, "Bitterblue," then the ciphered alphabet would look a little something like this. B I T E R L U V W X Y Z A C D F G H J K M N O P Q S And then you'd just put it up with the normal alphabet and substitute the letters.

Good guess, Qrow, but Katara's mother was Kya. Ursa was Zuko and Azula's mother. Also, Avatar isn't really an anime.
