...I wonder how the process of shutting down Miiverse works. Do they just have a special button that they have to press that instantly erases the website from existence? What do you guys think?

  • If you create a website, you can delete it through settings, but you would be the only one who can. So, Nintendo probably can delete through settings also. They might have a different way to do it, but this is what I think.

    A physical machine exists that runs the website. This is called a server. It has an IP address that let's us send requests to the site, a number such as 127.0.0.1 which we get through the domain name miiverse.nintendo.com, through a domain name lookup. They can simply turn the server off, though in many cases they would just rent space from somebody else's server, such as Amazon's.

    If you're really interested in this stuff, I'd suggest the computer science or computer engineering tracks at college. There should be a course called Computer Networking or something similar.

    You can try teaching yourself, too. I've seen introductory programming books on the Python, Java, and Ruby languages at my local library.

    they delete the site but the only reason why they are suting down miivers is because they killed the wiiu but they know that every wone loves miivers the ds isn't dead so why do they have to shut down miivers give us a reason just why!
