    Animals may not build clocks but they still keep track of time as evidenced by bird and butterfly migration patterns. I think the difference is that animals don't seem to tend to hold onto a concept of "unfinished business".

    Thats not what the quote means. It means that we are so obsessed with keeping up with time, that we alone must handle the burden of the fear of time running out. Although, yes I do agree, animals can keep track, but do they worry about being late to work? Running out of time for the due date on an assignment? No, but they follow a clock too. But we are just SO involved in timing.
