Why is Miiverse ending?

Does anyone know WHY Miiverse is ending? And what will happen to our homescreens? Will the symbol just dissapear? What will happen to all of the precious posts? What will happen to the Miiverse stage in Super Smash Bros.? Somebody, answer my questions! I'm so upset about this!
