Does Disney Art Academy Actually teach you how to draw?

Hey guys, I want to get Disney Art Academy but I don't know if it actually teaches you to draw in real life too. Please answer in the comments if you know.

  • Its a wonderful game to get. I got the game and already knew how to draw but it kinda helped me refine my skills.

  • I don't have the game, but I saw videos. If you really want to learn how to draw you should just get on and paper and just draw. In the Internet are good videos that teach you everything you should know for free. I don't know how serious you are taking this, but you will do it, if you want. Anyway these games are quite good drawing tools, I like to draw on ppa, but I didn't learn anything xD

  • One of the things I really like, with both PAA and DAA, is that they have allowed me to experiment more while I'm drawing. I feel that I've learnt alot, or maybe rather tried out different techniques that I wouldn't have tried on paper, in fear of ruining the drawing. So for me, these games have helped me improve, and havr given me lots of inspiration. :)

  • When it comes to the lessons, DAA won't really teach you that much, it's pretty much "colour the character the same way as the teacher does." It does give you some nice tips though, I liked some of the lessons focused on shading with the airbrush. PAA will teach you more about how to actually build a character, make effects like lighting/fire, or different light and shadow techniques. :)

In my opinion, it really doesn't. It does teaches you some things, but most of it is just coloring tips. I don't know how to draw and was expecting this game to teach you guidelines, anatomy, and etc. I learn something, but wasn't what I was expecting. You can still learn from it and it's like a digital sketchbook.

  • actually disney art academy doesn't show you how to draw it shows you how to color

  • In my experience, it honestly didn't teach me that much, but it does teach you tips and tricks, but only for that game, and plus since I know how to draw good it doesn't help me that much, but I guess it does teach you how to draw disney characters (if you wanna do that as a hobby), so just do whatever you want in the game, and just maybe you'll learn a cool trick to help your drawing be better.

  • in my opinion, it kinda does. although ur basically tracing or coloring, you can choose NO OVERLAYS after u've tried WITH OVERLAYS. learning by tracing then trying without tracing is how i learn...

  • I'd also like to mention that the tools work more like digital art programs rather than realistic art tools (like the main Art Academy titles).

  • i played the demo and all it did was teach me to color inside of a sketch... but....... it was sort of fun :)
