why do people like melee?

its just me but. i really don't like melee. there are only 10 good characters, adventure mode is boring compared to the story mode in brawl, and the battles just have people spamming fire fox near a ledge.

  • Because competetive smash. Other than that, still fun game as long as you have friends to play with

  • It has more focus on offense than defense. The game allows you and encourages you to take risks when dispatching opponents, making it feel like a real fighting game. I don't think it's perfect though it's clearly rushed.

  • p.s. what match did you see that had foxes camping on the ledge over and over again? this is not sarcasm, i want to see the set. that sounds like jiggs to me.

  • My problem with Melee is that you're either in it for fun or for real. In terms of party games, I prefer the other Smash Bros. games and for competitive fighters, I'd rather play Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, BlazBlue and Guilty Gear. Far more balanced characters, better practice mode, no cheap/overwhelming mechanics and rather friendly communities.

  • more focused on the characters and great gameplay opposed to a story mode that was barely function with certain characters, hence trying ganon fighting and platformig in subspace, more fluid movement in melee than brawl, and melee didn't punish people for walking. smash 4 fixed brawls mistakes

  • Still better then 64(It is a good game but I prefer the later installments including, Brawl)!
