Story Time: So last night I was playing some Mario Kart 8 online and at around 2:30 AM CDT a cricket just comes out of nowhere and scares me while I was racing. So I threw some water at it and it hid behind a small clock I have. After I lost the race I got the plastic cup and trapped the cricket in the cup and then proceeded with MK8 until about 3:15 AM. *Continued in comments*

    After I was done playing for the night I got a paper plate and carried the cricket to the kitchen table where I sprayed some glass cleaner with ammonia and disinfectant spray and lifted the cup slightly to let the chemicals in. The cricket proceeded to drink the chemicals and hop around like crazy until it landed on its back where it eventually died 2 minutes later!
