Apparently… Pokémon GO is dying. Tthis game was so successful in its first month, that it broke 5 Guinness World Records in the areas of chart positioning, downloads and revenue… But recent reports show that the game has lost over 15 million users since it peaked in mid-July… and that's almost a third of daily active users at the peak. That's the textbook definition of: "Short-lived", isn't it…?

  • Honestly, I wasn't interested in the idea of an official Pokémon mobile game to begin with, but… seeing how it brought gamers together, to the outdoors was still an amazing achievement for a Video-game.

(My dumb personal opinion) I can't play it anyway because I have a Windows 10 phone. I don't think I would play it anyway. My problem with it is that it's so competiton based (with the whole "taking over gyms" concept). Also, the app is free, but you are pretty much required to buy in-game money because money is hard to get in it.

I would want to play it to "catch 'em all", but I don't think I could do it without being forced to participate in competitions and pay microtransactions. I agree; it's a shame that Go is doing poorly. The concept sounds great, a game that lets you find Pokemon in the real world...but I don't really like how they went about it.

  • @Rebecca Well, that's mostly the user's fault. Sure, the awareness of your surroundings isn't as good as it should be when you're distracted, but that means that people need to learn HOW to play and WHEN to play. If someone's gonna play it while crossing the road or driving their vehicle, then… they're responsible for whatever happens next. (But that's just what I think, I guess…)

  • I still have it and I only got to level 16 before I really stopped playing. I just don't go out much, and if I am out I just don't have the time. I have 135 pokeballs and 44 great balls right now because I will get pokestops but not catch anything so

  • @Ni Yeah, that's a good point. That's why I prefer the main-series games… Still, it's a shame.

  • It still gives them less of a reason to do so. Plus now there's less people in the car going "OMG YOU HAVE IT TO?! What's your level? Can we trade? This guy got a Raichu, lucky!!!!!" Ya know?
