Are there too many FE reps in Smash?

No. Get over it. Besides, if it wasn't for the fans there wouldn't be so many FE reps in the first place. People wouldn't shut up about Roy for months until he was added back in etc.

    Maybe? I think there would be less complaining if there were 6 completely unique characters, and they weren't all swordfighters.

    It makes sense that there are as many FE reps in Smash as Pokemon. Fire Emblem has become HUGE recently, thanks to Awakening and Fates. This was honoring Fire Emblem's revival as a series.

    My problem is the many Fire Emblem characters seeing as I love the series. My problem is that there are more representatives for Fire Emblem than many of Nintendo's other big franchises like Zelda, Metroid, Kirby and Star Fox.

    yeah.and those who complain "star fox or dk should have gotten more reps,not fire emblem" need to remember,while star fox and dk were on their "break",the fire emblem games were still going.

    @Andrew True but all FE reps are either the main protagonist, the deuteragonist or the tritagonist in their respective games. Sakurai seems to like adding protagonists to Smash games far more than antagonists. Series like Metroid, Kirby and Zelda have few characters to choose from if they want another protagonist to represent the series.

    The thing is series like Zelda and Metroid have bigger impacts on Nintendo as a whole while a series formally for a niche market gets more characters than those games because Awakening exploded in western markets.

    True but remember that every villain in Smash is in more one game. They are always the villain in numerous games or for the entire series such as the Koopalings and Bowser respectively. The only one who doesn't fit this is Dark Pit but he has only appeared in one game so far and is arguably not a villain anyway.

    Hate me if you want(not that I cared), but I'd rather prefer to have Tingle instead of Kamui & have Lucina as a character skin for Marth rather than a whole new(clone)character.Though if Lucina was a skin & added Kamui later I wouldn't mind, though, how come FE had more representatives than lets say Zelda or a whole new character from a new series that isn't in smash already(Bayo was ok to me).
