Dang XD It'll be hard for me to not look up early reactions then. lol I was gonna save it to watch it live with a couple college buds at our usual hangout.

I know, it'll be tempting not to watch it early. Somewhat related: I'll probably check out the forums when it's released to sponsors, to see who wins, and how much salt is there. Good God Doom, you should have seen the salt levels after Dante VS Bayo and Bowser VS Ganon happened. (Granted, it was warranted rage, but still.)

I try to stay away from versus vid comments in general XD

To be fair, the SA Forums research nearly everything on the match-up when it's announced (And even earlier for obvious match-ups, like Bayonetta and Tracer's matches), so they get a little bit of a pass for their anger. Granted, they're still way too salty, but still.

At least Screwattack isn't like AnimationRewind and his new Salt Assault series. XD

I've actually encountered a CFC researcher trying to say Archie Dark Sonic is multiversal. You know what the problem is? Well, for starters, Dark Sonic doesn't exist in Archie canon.

CFC fights can be incredibly picky as to what he considers good and bad too. XD Another reason as to why I don't do DBZ power scaling for everybody. XD

I feel scaling should be used for DBZ (Goku has no planet-busting feats, even though everything in the series shows he's well beyond that), but you should know what scaling is questionable, and should be avoided (Character A beats Character B, through nothing relating to speed, so they're faster?).

Like, the whole reasoning behind judging fights on it is so dumb. It measures only their maxed out destructive capability and nothing else. What if the supposedly superior foe has a way for a foe to just negate his power? What if said foe could use that power against him to win? Where's your scale now?

I mean, for example: Mario surviving a supernova would probably put him along the lines of at least solar system level according to the "power-scaling," so anything below said level shouldn't even get close to killing him. Yet, he can die just easily as any other from deadly heights, a dip in lava, a dip in poison and so on, even while weilding power-ups that make him completely invincible. So

does that make said poison/lava/force of the fall can somehow top the power to destroy solar systems? I would think not.

I'm referring more to stuff that can actually be counted as feats. Like, Character A if Faster Than Light, and Character B is significantly faster, so Character B is FTL. Stuff where specific abilities counter theirs isn't scaling, because it's not winning through a verifiable stat like strength or speed, just through hax.

Also, that stuff is mostly game mechanics. Kirby can casually survive black holes and planetary explosions, so him being hurt by Wispy Woods' apples is Gameplay Induced Stupidity, and isn't verifiable.

09/04/2016 11:36 PM ·Spoilers
Well, that's another thing to it. Because in their actual game canon they can be killed by that stuff, this makes power scaling even less reliable. "Every Mario character who went through the 'Black Hole Boogie' minigame is on *insert power level*" yet they could all die to a Goomba.(apart from like Boo and stuff.)

There's a certain point where gameplay mechanics are usable, and where they cross the line. Bomberman has no-selled a planetary explosion, escaped a black hole, and taken attacks from THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE. So, stuff like your average enemies killing him, or even his own bombs to an extent, cannot be used as anti-feats, because he's survived far worse.
Yeahs1 -

That Black Hole minigame is likely an outlier for them, but a few characters should be able to withstand it no problem. (Bowser and the Bros. especially.)

I dunno, I could probably use all 30 of my comments in a rant against Power-Scaling, but I'll just restrain myself about it. XD I just am not a fan, long story short.

It honestly depends on how reliable the scaling feat is, and if there's anything that contradicts it. I honestly find gameplay to be less reliable, due to it nerfing/buffing certain characters for fairness. (In MvC2, Dan Hibiki is in the same league as THANOS. Either way you look at it, it's wrong.)

Scaling is also kind of needed for certain characters, because otherwise you're selling them short. (According to their GvSM calcs, Base Goku can't lift as much as peak SPIDER-MAN. Like, I agree with the verdict, but their reasoning wasn't...great.)
