Sharing my StreetPass gardens. Check the comments for more. This one is overrun with squirrel pots, all holding variations of the Squirrel's Ear flower. There's also a squirrel topiary in the back. I think there's a theme of some sort here?

That was one of my last ones, too. It comes in white, light green, and light blue. So, your best bet is to grow another Patterna flower in one of those colours, keep watering it and eventually you'll get the seed for it.

I just go w/the flow in my gardens and take what I can get. Although I need help getting a trailing pinwheel. Chris, I like your comment about the music! Plus, I used it once to take a nap, by putting my DS in sleep mode, love that upgrade.

Plus I bought every game for both 3DS, I own. Ghost Manor really is my favotite, but some of the tougher puzzles are hard for me to solve. Not to mention the Bonus time limit!

About half of my current plants were also just going-with-the-flow too, and I'd keep the best results and sometimes re-grow them with different leaves or colours. :P Oh yeah, that upgrade! I didn't get that! All of my local StreetPass relay points have shut down, so I'm not sure if it's worth $5 just for the music in sleep mode. Maybe?

Every time I solved one of those puzzles, I wrote down the answer on my phone for future reference. They were tough, so once was enough, thank you. ;) Oh, with 2 copies of Flower Town, you could do the Rare Breed mixing exploit! Now I'm jealous.

Getting a Rare Breed in the first place is just random. Normally a seed's possible outcomes are some combination of the "parent" flowers' properties, but sometimes they'll have a 3rd possibility, which will be a breed other than the 2 parents. Or sometimes you'll get a shiny seed that's guaranteed to be a different breed. Anyway, you'll need to grow a different Rare Breed in each game…

With one of the Rares, invite some miis over to harvest the seeds. You need a seed that'll give you a regular breed, but with the stem/shape of a Rare. (Like all the wreath flowers in one of my pictures!) Then, grow that new flower (regular breed with Rare stem), and leave it on the workbench when you exit the game, so it saves it as your most recent flower. Now do a StreetPass with them!

By different, you mean one flower from a category in 1 DS, and a different flower from another category, in my other DS right?

With the OTHER 3DS, take your Rare, make sure it has seeds left, and invite the mii. They'll be carrying the last flower they made, which should be that hybrid. Normally if a mii brings a Rare, it DOESN'T pass on its properties to the seed; it just makes it more likely the seed will also be Rare. But because it's actually a regular breed, it might pass on certain properties, like the Rare stem.

By "different" I mean their breed names are different. They can be in the same family / category.

So if you take Rare Breed "A" to make seeds with a flower that's a regular breed, with the stem from Rare Breed "B", it's possible that the seed will give you "A" with the stem of "B". That's the only way to mix rares! So if I can grow a Bite Weed with the stem of a Prickly Pear (a single huge bloom, pointing straight up), it'll resemble a Piranha Plant from Super Mario.

I've grown that breed before. I just can't remember if it's the one I had to start over or not yet. I'll check soon. Right now, I'm having a blast playing Pokèmon Sun!

If anybody who originally replied to this post is interested, check out this screenshot from my Play Journal entry (April 15th). I finally managed to make a Hybrid Rare plant using that trick I explained! The best part is, I didn't use a second 3DS to help; a local player just happened to bring in a rare-stemmed regular breed that he probably harvested from mine.
