    I even crushed a small bug with a paper on the floor and heard painful cracks to the ears. I never looked under the paper or even touched it anymore.

    Eugh, that sounds awful. What type of bugs are they? If you make some research maybe you can find out how to get rid of them without lighting the house on fire. Or get other bugs that will eat those and aren't household pests (like ladybugs and praying mantises and spiders). I did that for a while and it really saved me. Or lay out traps I guess? Good luck!
