Thank you! Ableton Live is music recording/mixing/mastering software for PC. I've been using it's "Lite" version (which is free) but a sale caused me to step up to the loaded "Suite" version.

That's a very broad question, as in what tradition, what ethnicity, what era, etc. And what experience, listening, playing instruments, writing, etc. I've done light studying on music throughout the years, and I know some music theory (scales, steps, pitch, pitch vs. harmonics, chord construction & so on)...

I've been playing electric & acoustic guitar on & off for almost 10 years, piano & synth for about a year. In recent months, I've taken up electric bass guitar. I don't sing, and I have very little songwriting experience. I have several WIP songs, & a few completed ones. Hopefully something in all this will answer your question.

Thanks it did. I don't anything about reading music or playing any instruments and I was wondering if it would be hard for someone like me who doesn't know a thing about music to mess around in a program to try and figure how electronic music works

Go for it! It's never too late! I was in my 20's when I picked up guitar. Part of my inspiration came from a 85 year old man who started playing at the age of 83. It's an awesome sense of accomplishment to take instrument playing to a new level (video game pun partially intended).

I'll be honest, learning music has serious growing pains. But again, the sense of accomplishment is awesome. For electronic music, much of the hardware utilized has a piano keybed setup, so to start, I'd recommend learning to play piano as far as music goes. Things get more complicated when performing/recording electronic music, since there's often programming involved.

But if you're clever with programming inside a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), you really don't need to know music theory, since you can make the software do it for you. I know of a couple DJ's who know next to nothing about music theory, yet use their rigs to produce electronic music. They are successful in terms of business, but are scorned by musicians.

That's nice, I've also been considering taking piano lessons to get a a better understanding of how music works and the terms and jargon that go along with ,but I want rrally to learn how to make AMVs that sync up with music well with music

Most if not all modern DAW's can handshake with video software, so that again will be learning programming. And yes, find a excellent instructor, which may actually be the toughest part! There are so many inexperienced folks "teaching" as experts. Or they're advanced students who will "teach" you from a book you buy at a bookstore!

You'll want an instructor who knows what you want to learn, and can teach you without needing you to go to a bookstore & buy a book for them to use. There's also the internet which of course can be free as far as lessons goes. But again, you'll have to sift through the advanced students, opinionated musicians, and "experts" to find folks who really know their stuff.
