    ah, now i can say my theory. contrary to popular belief, i don't think resets are actually time travel. the reason is that flowey is not only aware of the resets, he's also aware of what happened previously. this leads me to believe that resets...

    ... are not time travel, but actually a form of time alteration. i envision it like this. when chara resets, she takes a point in the past, copies it, and forcibly replaces the present with it. the new pseudo-present then continues as normal. as such, time is not turned back, but rather continues on. so instead of altering time, chara's altering everything else.

    By that of course I mean that Chara just creates a new timeline essentially to replace her death one by using a SAVE, but that's just another theory really.

    Chara honestly gets one shot by anything Maxwell does, so her only option for victory is her RESETS. Two problems with that. One, Chara can't just adapt to Maxwell's tactics, because they can literally be insta-deaths, so reseting won't save her there. And two, because she's going back to right before the battle, Maxwell will be back to his peak as well, so she's screwed there too.
