Life and death, creation and destruction. These two concepts differ wildly and in certain hands, can yield absolute power. However, no one said those couldn't be the hands of a child. Like Maxwell, the Scribblenaut, and Chara, the Fallen Child! I'm Ozzy and it's my job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills in order to determine who would win a DEATH BATTLE!!

  • included in that list of most OP fictional powers, as it essentially stops them from being killed permanently. Not only that, but Chara retains memories from the time jumps while most of their opponents are completely none the wiser, the only exceptions being Sans and Flowey. This could mean that Chara could be obliterated over and over and just keep coming back just as much. This in most cases

Both Maxwell and Chara can unleash power that can essentially wipe out all of existence, and while Chara couldn't physically survive that kinda attack from Maxwell, the SAVE would bring them back to a point in time before they began fighting. While it isn't too big of an edge,(absurdly OP

While with each reset, Maxwell would be back at peak conditions, any physical attack patterns of his,(he does have a bit of combat training) will become predictable and Chara will slowly learn more and more of what the notebook is capable of while at the same time boosting their own attack power with

  • a growing hatred towards Maxwell.(We've seen before with the fight against Sans that Chara physically despises being defeated) Of course if Chara takes down any of Maxwell's summons, they'll slowly gain power, but if they get killed afterwards and hafta reset, all that LOVE is gone and they go back to the LOVE they had at the fight's beginning. Now, that's alotta text all about how OP both of

  • these guys can be, but without any in depth look into their strongest abilities, any further comments would have little to no context. But now we can actually find ourselves a winner, because one of these OP powers is not like the other: Maxwell's Notebook has a limit as to what can be active at once. After a certain number of items is hit, Maxwell's creations start disappearing. Chara can reset

  • as many times as they want. "But Ozzy! The likelihood of Chara forcing that limit is not that much!" Right you are, my fellow Miiverse user, but this is only the first step to finding a victor. Remember how Chara is able to somehow retain memories of previous timelines with their resets? Well this is unfortunately where the fight begins leaning. Maxwell is naturally a heroic character, often

Even with moral restraints removed, Maxwell's first move wouldn't be to automatically add "invulnerable" to himself, "dead" to Chara or summon an outrageous weapon/creature/etc. He just doesn't know how deadly Chara can be. Chara, on the other hand will know just how naive Maxwell

Eventually, no matter how long this fight takes, whether Chara forces the Notebook's limits or not, something's gonna hafta give. In fact, if enough deaths occur to Chara and enough hatred is built up towards Maxwell, their strongest hits,(even the reality wiping ability) could really start doing damage. Case in point, when Chara

This isn't even counting the power to wipe out the plainof existence! Not to mention that even with Max's reality wipe durability, he can still be killed by his Notebook's own creations, meaning he isn't unkillable. As powerful as Maxwell is, Chara's resets,

  • Well no offense but doesn't the rules of death battle prevent the reset? You get one life in a Death Battle. I get its Chara's whole gimmick though.

  • Well, unlike the traditional rule of "resets=extra lives," Undertale specifically makes not that in this instance, SAVE-ing is actually a variant of time travel as opposed to simply saving a game and resetting.

  • But... Max can time travel too.

  • my wondering is, is there a possibility that maxwell will figure out what's going on with the resets? if so, he does have ways to reach a better conclusion. for instance, he could prevent the battle from occurring using flash's time travel ability.

  • Now that I have comments again, I can actually answer your questions. XD @Both. Yeah, he has methods that he too can time travel, but he doesn't know about Chara's SAVE ability. It's used usually after death, so he wouldn't be able to know about it.
