朝、同じ行先の列車が時浜駅に同時進入する光景が見られる。手前側は普通で、奥側は急行。というのも、平津駅から貨物線（大城線の快速線的扱い）に、普通がこの急行から退避するため、このようになる。快速線に普通が走る不思議な運行形態。（貨物線へは分岐方向になり、平塚を通過する急行にとってはスピードダウンに繋がるため、急行ではなく普通が走る。）
