Underrated Games that Received Unfair Hate?
Devils 3rd was underrated. Noticed alot of games that were good or very good were given low scores on Wii U. Can you think of others? (Game and Wario, Kirby Rainbow Curse, Mario Tennis UltraSmash, Mario n Sonic Rio Olympics, StarFox Zero, Rodea The Sky Soldier on WiiU, Mighty Number 9, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, Mario Party 10)

The Wonderful 101 received some harsh reviews. Games reviewers hate to encounter complicated control systems (they have to digest games within a specific time period to deliver their verdict). Also, being a Wii U exclusive didn't help! Reviewers could give relatively low scores to Wii U titles, as most of their audience doesn't want to feel that they should own this games console.

Some reviewers gave Zombi U low scores, because they rated it in the category of a first-person shooter rather than survival horror. The controls were, again, overly criticized. Zombi U was included as a pack-in with the Premium bundle at launch, so it was an easy target for anti-Wii U bias. "That game is bad, so don't buy the new machine". Zombi U is fantastic, by the way.

Rodeo isn't very good, if you buy it make sure you get the Wii version with it, that's a much better game. Game and Wario surprised me as being better than I expected, but I did get it cheap. Mighty No 9 is mediocre and needs a patch to improve loading times and frame rates. Star Fox Zero I think was good , I find the controls fine, but was disappointed in the lack of on-rail levels.

Mario Tennis Ultra Smash I thought played better than Power Tennis, but is severely lacking in content for the price. Kirby I found decent, and it got some decent reviews(so did Star Fox). Wonderful 101 I thought was great, the most over the top game outside of Bayonetta (no surprise, same director). I thought Sonic Lost World was decent, and I don't despise Sonic Boom, it's average at best.

ZombieU as mentioned was underrated, it was a tough game though. I haven't played any of the other games on your list. Devils Third is my favourite online shooter, I've never played anyother game online as much as I have this, it feels so different from everthing else on the market, despite the games many many flaws...

Rodea WiiU was very good too, i prefer Wii game but WiiU great too. People didnt understand it that WiiU one starts like a more traditional platformer in air with Target aiming, and vanilla gamepad controls. Mighty No 9 has issues with loads but plays like a good Megaman, it gets better once you unlock powerups and combos. You die less with practice. Art style misleads difficulty.

Mario Tennis Ultra still had 3 minigames, standard, classic, knockout mushroom tournament, + challenge list. I get it had less modes but still alot of fun.

Rodeo suffered from trying to adapt the point and fly system from the Wii version but made it much worse, a time limited free flight system without the point cursor would have been better, the terrible camera made things worse as well. Mighty no 9 I mentioned was mediocre, I don't think it was a bad game just okay. I would recommend Gunman Clive collection, it's cheap and a fun old school shooter.

I do think Mario Tennis Ultra Smash was fun to play, the core gameplay was good, but was lacking in features, it was quickly made for a Christmas release and it showed, pity there was no dlc for it, or any improvements made for online options. To be honest all console versions of Mario Tennis tend to lack the effort made in the handheld versions, which had RPG modes and more.

For anybody who played Sonic in Rio did they patch out the word that Shadow said after he missed a shot in Soccer? For those who don't know the word sounds a bit like hunt but with a c.

I've actually bought some games just to see if they as bad as they say. I had Superman 64(which I sold and made a profit on) which actually wasn't the worst Superman game I played, that goes to the gameboy version, which I hated more. The ring sections of Superman 64 was actually the best part, it got worse when you're in buildings, or had to actually touch anything.

Rodeas camera controls were alright, controlled with L and R. If you targeted and touched land, walls, objects or destroyed enemies you could stay in air much longer. Not sure about Rio patch, lol. MTennis had some rpg stuff with amiibo training but dont really need for a sports game. Superman 64 was known to have issues at the time, havent played in very long time.

Mario Tennis for the Gameboy Colour and Gameboy Advanced had full adventure modes, where you started of as a rookie and had to work their way up the ranks, as well leveling up skills.

Yeah Ultra Smash has some similarities but a bit different, knockout is tournament based on mushroom mode. Courts, players get harder as you progress and beat bosses and win coins, rackets. You can unlock strongerpowered versions of characters which appear. Not the same i guess. I just play for fun.

Watch Dogs was slated even before it was released, fantastic game. Mind you Bayonetta 2 was very highly rated but I didn't enjoy it at all. A review based on the reviewers personal likes/dislikes is pointless.

The mega mushroom in knockout I found to be annoying, you just hope to hold out until you get a mushroom yourself and get continually knocked back until you do. I found classic mode without all the gimmicks to be the best mode. I've played Watchdogs briefly I found it ok, the reviews made out that the Wii U version was a stuttering mess, but I found it ran fine.

I got the original Bayonetta when it was released on Xbox 360, I forced myself to complete the game on my first playthrough, played it in little bits for a few weeks, didn't like it all, then one day the it just 'clicked' and it became one of my favourite games of the last gen. Bayonetta 2 I thought was great. It all comes down to individual tastes, not critics, you make up your own mind.
