you should draw the base in your style so it'll look like your own art when i was younger i made mistakes with art because i didnt know the difference of coping and making your own art but when i turned 16 i figured it out im telling all my young artist or struggling artist this so they can improve so much if they practice and dont copy or re color or draw over u all can do it no ones art looks

Not a new message, and you could practice on being concise, but it's a message still worth getting out there nonetheless. So, Neko, if you don't mind me asking, something specific happen that inspired you to also get this message out there, or was it just something you felt you should mention to the youngsters following you?

that is what i do i see different art styles get inspired but i don't copy it i change it to be MY style [Still learning how to draw i only know how to draw females]

What if there's a person who assumes that you're copying their style but you're just inspired by their style? Example: You post your art somewhere and an artist assumes you're copying them? What can you do then?

Nice of you to give advice to people. :) it is good to have some inspiration but it's also good to create your own style.

@Pops: That's a tough, but good question. Coincidences can happen, after all. I've seen it play out at least three different ways, though. Sometimes the accused adjusts their style a bit more to try to avoid drama, sometimes both parties are able to talk it out, and sometimes a flamewar breaks out.
