Steven Universe Fan Theory. Peridot said that Homeworld didn't have many resources, so Peridots made on Homeworld didn't have powers. My theory is that the Diamonds have enough resources, they just don't want to share them with other gems. They're afraid that if gems get too powerful, they'll start another rebellion. They want to keep gems weak to stay in power.
