    retroactive continuity. A story's creator changes a fictive world's story, sweeping previous facts under a rug or either changes them later to be explained another way. And Nintendo didn't change anything.

    pink is typically a girl color. Evidence against this theory? Absolutely none. Sure, you could say that his hair is only pink because of the limited color palette of the SNES and game engine, but that's just ridiculous.     official artwork and other advertising objects don't even depict his hair as pink and obviously showcase his masculinity, but the people who made that didn't personally write the game, so they don't know better. This theory is precisely like yours. If you choose to believe Link is Dead in MM, you have no reason to believe he isn't a girl in ALttP.
