I love how a lot of people are making a big deal about how the new Disney Princess Moana doesn't have a love interest. Did everyone forget about Merida from Brave? I think it's fine that this new princess won't be romantically involved, but I feel like this is just another excuse to excessively bash the older princesses. Disney Princesses have come a long way, but people still aren't satisfied.

  • I admit that Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora haven't aged well, but they're still decent characters in their own right. People ignore that their movies were made a long time ago before action girls became more common. The later princesses are more proactive, yet many still act like all Disney Princesses are just damels in distress crying for a prince to save them.

  • I strongly agree with you. Everyone thinks that princesses must always have a love interest. THEY DON'T! I prefer the no prince Disney Princess movies because the older Disney Princess movies all end the same way. The prince solves the conflict, they get married, they live happily ever after. Ugh doesn't it seem a little boring by now.
