    The only reason "the squirrel" is there is for comical relief. ( By the way, the squirrel's name is Scrat.) I personally absolutely love scrat, I've always have. As for his parents..... they most likely died or... there just somewhere else. A movie is a movie, and some don't have much logic. For all we know Scrat doesn't have any parents whatsoever.
