    Become a teacher or a writer. Possibly study the origins of the English language. There may not be as many options for someone with a BA in English, but that shouldn't stop them from doing what they love.

    Okay, I'm going to be honest: This is actually a joke amongst adults (that a B.A. in English is useless) and it's the name of a song from Avenue Q, referencing that joke. +S.E. Hinton wrote The Outsiders at 14 years old, in high school, and it's considered a classic. Many celebrities write acclaimed memoirs or novels with a degree in something else (ex. drama for actors).
