    No... It's an action/adventure. Although, the new one may also have some platforming and survival elements.

    Not really. In an RPG (as I understand them) you have level up, and there's a lot more customization involved. In this series, the powering up is much different, where your character essentially amasses a hoard of items that helps him to do stuff and reach new places. You can also get aforementioned items by exploring, which is a big part of Zelda. In terms of other gameplay, it's probably(contd.)

    Zelda has some rpg elements but it is not an rpg neither real time nor turn based. elements such as leveling up your health, sidequests, characters that are there to give you an illusion that the world is alive in reality is not so (some exceptions exist such as chrono trigger and others I can't name because I hate grinding and random encounters), major rewarding secrets, ect.

    best decribed as action\adventure. It has more realistic combat than: Charmander used Ember! It's super effective! Bulbasaur used Vine Whip! It's not very effective... (Not bashing the Pokémon series. Totally love Pokémon. It's an RPG, so it fits in this example.)
