i finished undertale again, and in all honesty, it isn't as good as the fan base would have believe. the characters are well written, but they'd be better if there was any character development. (asriel had some, not much). gameplay has a good premise, but it is far from innovation. also movement on the bullet board is extremely clunky, and you know what is awesome to have in an rpg? [cont]

    cool areas to explore. a long corridor isn't good level design. it would work if it were every now and then to build tension, but it happens to be a majority of the game. i know that this is supposed to be modeled after an nes game, but the nes was capable of well made tilesets and good level design. this game has good music, i'll give it that...     but this game tries to give itself replay value by having multiple endings, except i got burned out half way through my last run. genocide runs are filled with mandatory grinding to continue the story... that's called padding. you use it to make the game seem longer. this game relies so heavily on lore, not it's own story, it can work if you break it up and give it to the player in little [cont]

    [sorry, had to fix breakfast,] bits at a time, but this game just dumps it all on your lap and then reminds you later. i don't hate the game, in fact i like it a lot, it just isn't as good as people say it is. it is nowhere near my favorite game either. i'd probably rate it 3/5 stars.
