ToZ:BotW - A Korok theory - We all know that Koroks are in the next game and there are multiple theories on the timeline because of them, but in this post I won't talk about that, I will give you another set of theories I have been thinking about these past few days, let's begin.

  • To start of, I'm glad these little fellows are back again. But, what does their existence in BotW really mean? Aside from the Timeline placement.

  • To start with, it means that the Great Deku Tree is somewhere in the game; that there is a forest where the Koroks came from. But there is something strange this time around, in BotW when you meet any Korok they say "Can you see me?" You can actually see me!?" I'm a happy Korok!"

  • This might mean that in reality, unlike WW the Koroks are not only shy, but that the general populace aren't aware of them anymore. In a sense, they are like the Minish. This is possible from to factors: 1. Time has advanced so much in BotW that people have forgotten about Koroks. 2. The technology in the game, is so advanced that people started to forget about magical creatures.

  • We see that in BotW technology is really present, and that same presence might have affected people's believe on magical creatures. Take as a Peter Pan 2 thing, were Wendy's daughter doesn't believe in the existence of fairies.

    Yeahs0
  • But that's just one point in the game, let's talk about plot now. In BotW Koroks give you a magical seed, the item description says something like: "If you collect enough of these, something good will happen" or "You can't know what these do" So let us guess here then, maybe these seeds are going to be used to revive a forest or they need to be spread by you, just like in WW.

  • A more wild guess involves the floating island found in the game. What if you need these seeds need to grow up a tree so you can reach said island, just like the magical seeds or even a Mario game. It's sounds cliché I admit, but its not out of the question just yet. The island might hold even the hidden land of the Koroks, and the Great Deku Tree's home.

    Yeahs0
  • Since Koroks are shy creatures and the Great Deku Tree job is to protect said creatures, then a floating island can do the job just fine.

    Yeahs0
  • One final thought on timeline placement. In Wind Waker the Koroks take off to plant trees on different islands, some theories indicate that BotW is after WW hundreds if not thousands of years in the future. Going back to WW, the trees had faces in them, like they were going to become Deku Tree's themselves. If BotW is after WW, do you think we will see more than one Deku Tree?

    Yeahs0
  • With this I will rest my theories, what do you think about them? Any ideas? Let me and others know.

    Yeahs0
