湖水の駅紹介#3 久しぶりの駅紹介です。今回は、西牧方面から中央新町区に入って最初の駅「西中央新町駅」です。中心部に位置する中央新町駅付近と違い、駅周辺は大規模な開発が行われなかったため、今も田園地帯が残っています。地下には、今回のダイヤ改正で開業した「地下鉄西威線」(せいいせん)が通っています。しかし、駅がないため、直通開始の効果が少なく、地元からは駅設置の要望が出ていますが、現状では予定はないとのことです。
