【夏の自由研究】江別駅に学ぶ“配線の極意” 今回解説するのは江別(函館本線)。江別市は札幌圏のベッドタウンとして栄えており、列車も江別までは10分間隔で設定されており、30分間隔で運行される岩見沢行を除く2/3がここで折り返す。それでは配線を見てみよう。元々2面3線の国鉄式配線の駅だったが、JR化後に折り返し用ホームが増設され、変則2面4線の駅となった。これにより、ホーム番号は外側から1番、2番となっている。次回は待避や折り返しを解説する。
