Meganium check. Okay so there's a 30% chance to defeat it itemless, but because of its weird disruptions, it's safe to bring along Reshiram. Mega choice? I would say Charzard to rid of rocks. I don't have Blaziken, but I would recommend him too.

    I used M-Heracross, Heatran, Reshiram, Torchic and had a 70% defeat rate.

    That's great. I'm not a fan of Her across because his Mega Effect doesn't become very consistent as it should, especially if there's a low amount of icons on the board

    That's the point. You're not supposed to activate it until there's a bunch of M-Heracross' on the board...

    Even so, it would not add a bunch regardless if there about at least a good 15-30% covered by Heracross.

    I based it on how many attempts an average player can do on an itemless run. If the said stage is easy (Pokemon choice is upon a person's discretion if AP is over 80) then it'll be a higher percentage. If it's difficult, then the chances are lower. It's really not necessary to use items, but if you're back against the wall, that's up to you if you can budget.
