Final Boss good ending

playing as Yuri and I know that you have to beat the final boss above water and use your glance to get the good ending, but for me it never showed up as an option above water. Is this a glitch or am I just standing in the wrong place? lol. Got the bad ending pretty easily though

    I got it finally and it's such a small window of opportunity. Every other time I just stood there next to her and was never given the prompt. She glows yellow for 2 seconds and that's the time to glance apparently. Any other time results in going underwater again.
