長沢新都心開発記第44回祝！下越線開業100周年！ 2003年、下越線は開業100周年を迎える事ができました。開業は1903年当初、高瀬から旭駅までの運行でしたが、1946年下越駅までの延伸を果たし、1970年の霧雨急行電鉄が下越交通線を吸収して1983年には集中豪雨で河川が氾濫して橋梁が壊れてしかも当時赤字路線だったため廃線寸前に陥りましたが、地元住民からの支援や鉄道ファンからの寄付金により2001年に運転再開をしました。そして本日午前10:00より記念列車が運行されます。これから2004年の9月まで毎月15日に下越線にて記念臨時列車の運行をします。車両は霧雨急行EH100形です。閲覧ありがとうございました！
