I... disagree. I really don't care if evolution happened or not, because it's not important, but considering that the process started before the concept of days could even exist, I see no reason to think it literally took seven days. That book is figurative... a lot. Not saying it's fake, but whether He said 77 or 490 times, He meant you should forgive EVERY time.

@Ed Oh, absolutely! I try to show them I'm just as human as they are. First ten minutes of the school day is just us enjoying each other's company. I like to listen to them more, though. The stuff some of them say can be hilarious.

@Sciz it is important, the bible said it took 6 days 7 if you include the day HE rested. You can't pick and choose what stuff you believe in the bible. You CAN'T say All this is correct, but the first 2 chapters. The first 2 chapters are the foundation so to speak. If you take that away all you have is a crumbling tower. And if you don't believe the first 2 chapters, why believe the rest??

@Sciz: The words on forgiveness were a rather obvious metaphor for how much you should forgive... There's no logical reason to not give the exact time it took to make the earth. The length of a Creation day is irrelevant to me, because it doesn't add or subtract any weight to what I believe. I research more on the spiritual aspects and how each event identifies Him as The Author. I want to write a nonfiction on it one day.It actually makes literature studies more relevant than I thought as a teenager.I likely would have gotten better grades if I knew why it was important.

Yes, sometimes it's a good thing they're on their phones because I actually get to talk for once. The problem though is that all they think youth group is is a place to regroup with all their friends. They aren't far off the mark but I used to be really good friends with some of them until I was home schooled, now they don't even acknowledge me. My youth group is way too cliquey.

Well if you look at the original language in which it was written in. you see the word for "Day" is the exact same word we use. And i do think it's relevant because of what everyone says the evolutionests, and so on. You have to be sure or you can be swayed more easily. Trust me it's not a nice feeling
